This year’s theme is Powering Growth: Building the Energy System of the Future

As North America navigates energy transition, LDCs are leading investment in smarter infrastructure and electrification. This theme explores how LDCs are building a resilient, inclusive, and innovative energy system.

With 35 speaker sessions across 6 focused streams, EDIST 2026 is your chance to share expertise and shape the industry.

Session Tracks:

Sustainability & Decarbonization
- Learn how utilities are driving climate action, including: electrification of transportation, emissions reduction strategies, demand-side management (DSM), and technologies or approaches that support a more resilient, low-carbon grid.
Regulatory
- Dive into the regulatory environment for electricity distributors and transmitters, including: policy design, compliance, customer obligations, and regulatory frameworks that enable the energy transition.
Operations
- How are utility field operations changing? Suggested topics include workforce innovation, safety, new tools and technologies, and strategies to improve efficiency and reliability in day-to-day operations.
Engineering
- This stream highlights advances in utility engineering, including: planning, asset management practices, grid modernization, system reliability, and technical solutions to current and emerging challenges.
